We created these kits for our own children to help inspire them. They are perfect little sparks when our children get a little tired of the same curriculum.
All FunKits include custom designed curriculum lesson plans for your child. They include background information, instructional notes and experiments and other ideas.
We also try to include a Portfolio Sheet. A Portfolio Sheet is an experiement data form that your child can use to track the progress of their lesson/experiment. Not all funkits have them, but experiment based ones mostly do. Then you can three-hole punch this sheet and put in in your child's portfolio if you like. It is designed to look clean and professional so it can serve as a good representation of what your child's experiment was like.
There is also a space on their for your child to put some notes and observations. The result of an experiment isn't as important as what your child thought during the process. Remember, these are designed to get your kids to think (and have fun!)
This is a family project. It's actually a homeschool project too. There are only a few of us and we have to cover all our costs, including getting some help when we are overwhelmed. The $4.95 shipping and delivery fee per item is based on an average cost across the board to also cover lots of little things you may not think of like boxes, tape, color printing of lesson plans and portfolio sheets, packing materials, plastic bags, internet fees, credit card fees (which are huge by the way), postal meter fees, breakage when items arrive broken, returns people send back damaged, and so on. Like I said, it's a homeschool accounting project too. The shipping and delivery charge may change from time to time as things and costs change. But mostly, we hope your children enjoys these as much as we did!
We have been getting lots and lots of demand from overseas including Canada. Unfortunately, we can't ship overseas. The labor is enormous, lots of forms and time. Imagine standing in line at the post office for hours to get some forms, fill them out, just to ship the odd package here and there. Plus there are too many export regulations, and may items never make it. We homeschool our children too, and we just can't do it. We are so sorry.
